What we look for
Listings that should not be there.
Banks and stores look at your credit record before they say yes. These are the listings we most often find that should be corrected or removed:
- Accounts you have paid that still show as in arrears or handed over.
- Judgments that were paid or set aside but still show.
- Listings past their legal time limit. Negative listings may only stay on your record for a set period.
- Accounts that are not yours, or amounts that are wrong.

About ITC clearance.
What does "ITC" mean?
ITC was the old name of one of South Africa's credit bureaus. Most people still call their credit record their "ITC", so "ITC clearance" means getting wrong or outdated listings off your credit record.
Can you remove a listing that is correct?
No, and nobody honest can. A correct listing stays until its legal time limit runs out. What we can do is make sure every listing on your record is correct and up to date, and get the ones that are not removed.
How long does a dispute take?
Once a dispute is lodged with the credit bureau, the bureau must investigate it, normally within 20 business days. If the creditor cannot prove the listing, it must come off.
Will this improve my credit score?
Removing listings that should not be there often helps, but we will not promise a number. Your score depends on your whole record.
