What we look for
What your report tells us.
- Your debt review status, and whether the flag is still on your name.
- Every open account, and which ones are paid up.
- Negative listings, such as defaults and judgments, and whether they are correct.
- Who has checked your credit recently.
Questions
About your credit report.
Is the Experian credit report really free?
Yes. Experian gives South Africans with a valid ID number free access to their own credit report. You never need to pay anyone for it.
Why can you not download it for me?
Your credit report is your private information, so Experian only gives it to you, after checking your identity. Once you have the PDF, you choose to send it to us.
Will checking my own report hurt my score?
No. Looking at your own credit report does not affect your credit score.
